Employee finds-out their manager earns a significant salary by delegating work and taking credit for their accomplishments without contributing much, receives witty comebacks on the discovery

Well well well, looks like we've got ourselves a regular workplace detective here. Cracked the big case: managers don't really do much! Quick, someone call Sherlock – let him know there's a new sheriff in town. A genius who figured out that people with fancy titles sometimes… avoid actual work. Shocking stuff.  

Our hero works in a place where the higher-ups have mastered the magic trick of making other people's work disappear into their own promotions. The boss – let's call her the Delegation Queen – gets paid like she's solving world hunger, but her real job is copying emails and saying per my last message a lot. Bra-vo.  

But it doesn't end there. Our sharp-eyed, star employee also discovered that managers enjoy meetings like kids love candy stores and that his boss spends her days watching PowerPoint slides like she herself is on a stakeout, occasionally dropping wisdom like "Let's circle back." Truly, the backbone of the economy.

  • Edit: since I know I'm going to get a lot of "no sh " comments, I guess my point is that I've never in my life had a boss who had this much time to micromanage. Usually they're too busy and have other, more important sh to do.

  • The responses to our vigilant, perceptive detective, Bless their heart, who’s just now noticing that corporate ladders are more like a game of snakes and ladders, were pretty snarky. All pretty much saying “No kidding, Sherlock,” which only goes to show how significant their findings are. As we all know. Everyone was skeptical and mocked the original Sherlock’s insights until they proved right.
